Couples Retreat @ EDELWEISS Lodge & Resort

I was so excited for this weekend to come.  It all started yesterday with a 6 hour bus ride from Baumholder to the south of Germany....................Garmisch-Partenkirchen.  Our tour guide mentioned that the two towns were separate until the respective mayors of both towns were forced by Adolf Hitler to combine the two market towns in 1935.  The unity of the towns was referred to as Garmisch and this dismayed the Partenkirchen residents.  Today the correct identity for this area is Garmish-Partenkirchen; however despite how the two small towns are neighbors and close in proximity they have two separate schools, two separate churches, two separate Schuhplatteln clubs or as we would know it the "shoe slapping dance"

Anyway Ed and I were heading to a couples retreat at the Edelweiss Lodge & Resort

The bus ride to Garmish-Partenkirchen was 6 hours and on our way to the South of Germany we saw this huge parking garage that spanned across the autoban

We went through lots of tunnels

We saw lots of cathedrals

It was a beautiful day the sun was shining and then the hills started to grow

And grow

And grow

And grow

The ride was so long that when we arrived at the resort we had time to check in eat dinner and then attend a class on The 5 Love Languages.  Yep, it was afterall a couples retreat sponsored by Ed's company or would that be the battalion?  Whatever.........I think it is a magnificent program that helps couple reunite after deployment.

I am proud to say that Ed and I were the couple in the group that has been married the longest @ 18 years.  We have been through it all and still going strong.

I'll blog about our free day today and our tour of King Ludwig's castle.

The New Chapter

Hi Everyone!  MA-kytah here.  Just so you'll know, Miss Karen retired from her job about a week ago.  Yep!!! she made a decision to close her chapter at Atkins Kroll (that spans 23 years) and start
'THE NEW CHAPTER'

We are heading to Germany.  Miss Karen said that her tour of duty being a solo parent ends-----period------no more.  Mr. Ed has been gone for almost 5 years.  And Miss Karen.............she wants to reunite the Fam Bam.

As she prepares for the move.  Miss Karen has gotten into her creative mode and lookey lookey - she designed this PugNPink Heart Harness for me and my pal Shady:

Hope all our Blog Buddies are doing well out there?

Juggling

Up with the roosters at the break of dawn with the help of an alarm clock....snooze, snooze, snooze - okay I'm up.

Fix the surface that gave me a good night's sleep fluffing the pillows and spreading the comforter

Glanced at a fairly refreshed image staring back at me in the mirror

Brush Brush Brush the teeth; wash wash wash the face

Wake up son #1

Wake up son #2

and escorting me on the wake up calls were Max and Abby (these two are nothing but the happiest beings 24/7 without fail and with no exception)

Called out the morning chores; brewed the StarBucks; set up the cups; unlocked the back doors; and waited for my sister

Selected attire for the day

set out lunch money

Poured the coffee

Checked emails on the BB

Settled at the patio table to apply my make up, sip my coffee, and chatted with my sister

Did the final touch up, drank the last of my yummy coffee and it was time to take sons to the bus stop.

Traveling back home I wondered how my day would be but then I rehabilitating myself to stop worrying and start living.

Changed into career clothes; Blew Dry and Styled my hair; poured coffee in my traveling tumbler; grabbed by D&B; and it was off to work

And this is my typical morning.

Happy April - gone is first quarter 2010.............so fast.
